He is also survived by; his brothers-in-law, Donnie Muxlow and Richard Carter; his sisters-in-law, Lori Walker and Brenda (Chuck) Thurston, along with his many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much. He is predeceased by; his parents Margaret (2024) and Colin (2006) MacKenzie; his mother-in-law, Georgina Carter (2016) and father-in-law, Albert Carter (2004); his sister, Bonnie Muxlow (2025); his brother, Wayne Mackenzie (1993) and by his sister-in-law, Gail MacKenzie (2006). Alan will always be fondly remembered as an incredibly kind, loving, and happy man who found great peace in the simple joys of life and would undoubtedly always be there for anyone who needed a helping hand. He had several notable hobbies throughout his life, including a keen interest in woodworking and fishing, both of which he possessed great talent for. His favorite hobby would be skillfully tending to his impressive herb garden, which occupied countless hours of his time. Alan always enjoyed time with his family, and is especially remembered for the love, care, and dedication he showed to his parents who he served throughout their lives with anything they needed. Our family is forever indebted to him and have immense gratitude for the service and steadfast loyalty that he displayed in tending to our parents every need. Joyce, Ian, and Alan’s entire family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who helped Alan throughout the trajectory of his illness. Everyone would especially like to thank Alan’s brother, Greg, for all the hours spent, kilometers travelled, and love and dedication he showed Alan through his end-of-life journey and in his last moments here on earth. In keeping with Alan’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life is to be announced at a later date.
