Garry Robbins

Robbins- With broken hearts, we share the sudden passing of Garry Robbins, aged 64, on February 17, 2020 at his home in Mooretown. Garry was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 2019. He was born on July 3, 1955 and lived on the 8th line of Moore (Rokeby Line) his entire life. He is survived by loving wife of 47 years, Pat (Laliberte). Deeply loved by his children and their spouses, Melissa (Jim) Fogarty, Julie Robbins (Ron Moore) and Shawn (Amy) Robbins. He was the absolute greatest "papa" to his grandchildren JJ, Carter, Lauren, Mackenzie, Hudson, Archie and Audrey. Dear son of Ruby Robbins. Cherished brother to Linda (Don) Gordon, Cathy (Dave) Johnson and Lorie Robbins-LaBelle (Dan). He was predeceased by his father, Archie (2000) and infant brother Larry. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews and his in-laws, especially his mother-in-law, Eileen. He will be greatly missed by his all his neighbours and friends, especially Harold and Bobby. He was a brilliant and hard working man who farmed and worked as an electrician in IBEW Local 530 for 41 years. Despite busy work obligations, he was ALWAYS there for his children. He enjoyed nature and his beloved animals (especially Tootie, Lucy and Tang). He absolutely loved the outdoors especially spending time chopping wood, hunting, fishing and driving his Argo around his property. He was always inventing or fixing something or just puttering around in his drive shed. He was selfless and exceptionally kind and was always there to lend a hand. He was quiet but had a great sense of humour and always loved to tease and be silly with his grandchildren. He has been known for playing practical jokes on family, friends and coworkers. The visitation is scheduled on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Pkwy., Corunna, from 5-7 pm. Please dress as you would if you were coming to visit Garry on a regular day (he especially enjoyed camo). Cremation will follow and a private burial will take place at a later date with family and close friends. To Pat, Melissa,Julie, Shawn and the entire Robbins family:
We were very saddened to learn of Garry’s passing.
Our family had the privilege and pleasure of interacting with Garry in a few different facets of his life.
In Garry’s career as an Electrician, we worked together on several projects over the years. Garry was extremely conscientious and had a reputation of being one of the top tradesmen in his field. He could always be depended upon.
During our children’s school and sports activities Garry’s presence was always that of pride, support and encouragement. We could all take a lesson from the way he acted. The values and principles that Garry displayed are very evident in each of his children.
Most recently, I ran into Garry as he was attending the school and sports activities of his grandchildren. What an amazing man!
May you all reflect on the positive memories that Garry created with each of you.
    Our condolences.
