Selman- Wayne Douglas Selman, age 70 years of Courtright, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, on Sunday October 4, 2026. Wayne had a gentle heart and a relaxed way about him and was always smiling. He was the beloved husband of Debbie Selman (Capes) for 35 devoted years. Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Doug and Teresa Selman. He was a loving father to Nicole (Brad) Rietze of Parry Sound and Danielle Selman (Broderick Webster) of Mooretown. He was also the cherished grandfather of Jackson and Benjamin, who filled his heart with a lifetime of beautiful memories. Wayne leaves behind a faithful canine companion, “Gunner”. He is survived by his brother Rob of Courtright, and his sister, Beckie of London. Throughout his difficult journey, he was lifted up by the unwavering support of his many friends. Wayne was a proud member of the Operating Engineers for over 50 years. Outside of work, Wayne was a passionate fan of Detroit sports, cheering faithfully for the Tigers, Red Wings, Lions and Pistons. He loved boating, golfing, testing his luck at the casino, and playing a great game of backgammon or cribbage. The family extends a special thanks to the nurses, PSW’s, staff, and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their exceptional care. While Wayne’s family will miss him deeply, they are forever grateful for the lifetime of memories to look back on. So many great memories from so so long ago. He always had a big smile on his face, and was genuinely a good friend. We had spent a couple of nights at the Wings games a few years ago. We had a very good time. I’ll remember it for a long time.
A smile we will never forget.
Loving and happy memories from Big Arn and Neen
