George “Dennis” Moran
February 18, 1971 – September 11, 2025
Gone too soon. It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of G. Dennis Moran at the age of 54.
Dennis, second oldest son to the late George and Gail (Miller) Moran. Beloved husband and father survived by Cindy, Tanner (Maddy), Spencer and Sarah Moran. Dear brother to Larry (Cynthia) Moran, Karen (DJ) van der Hoff and Tim (Tamara) Moran as well as his nieces and nephews.
Dennis was born and raised in the Port Lambton area and graduated from Wallaceburg District High School. He was surrounded by family and friends until moving to Sarnia in his early twenties. Dennis had a strong work ethic and desire to please. At an early age he had a grass cutting job he loved as well as helping his dad in the shop washing and polishing trucks. He was a truck driver for over two decades, many of those were as an owner operator with his own rig where he was able to continue his love for washing, waxing and polishing. Many Saturdays involved passing on his love of caring for his trucks with his family and they could all be found in the shop up to their elbows in soap suds and grease. Even after leaving the trucking industry he could be found in the driveway with his own personal vehicle (or someone else’s) washing, waxing and polishing.
For the last five years, due to the loss of a kidney, he switched careers to work at Compass Minerals, the world’s largest salt mine in Goderich Ontario which meant a move to Middlesex County. He enjoyed his time in the underground city learning the tricks and the trade of mining. Though the work was more physically demanding he enjoyed learning the trade.
Dennis will be fondly remembered by many as a kind and caring member of society. The kind of person always ready to lend a hand, be the lifter of heavy things, help a stranger and always up for a good time full of laughter and good natured shenanigans. He loved the summer and always said “the hotter the better”. His dedication to provide for his family was evident to anyone who knew him and was of most importance to him. His quick wit and smile that could light up the darkest of rooms will be forever missed.
A memorial visitation to be held:
Sunday September 21, 2025 from 1-4pm
Knight Funeral Home
588 St. Clair Pkwy
Corunna, ON
A private family burial will follow at a later date.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation and Canadian Mental Health Association are being accepted in Dennis’ memory. Thank you for your kindness.
