Howard Cook

Cook- Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia on Monday April 13, 2026. Howard William Cook, aged 101 years of Corunna. Loving father of Karen Baxter (Steve), Barb Montgomery (late Tom), Cathy Landry (Larry) and David Cook and step-father of Rob Konc. Chersihed grandfather of the late Stephanie, Kyle, Brent, Paige, Stacey, Sean, the late Cody and Carly. Treasured great-grandfather of Claire, Emily, Maren, Abby, Anna, Cameron, Scarlett, Alexis, Drew, Jordan and Cade. He was predeceased by; his parents, Eddie and Irene Cook; his step-mother, Nora: his first wife, Pearl; his second wife, Helen; his brother, Gord and sister-in-law, Jane. Howard celebrated his 100th birthday last year with a gathering of over 120 people attending to enjoy lunch and wishing him the best-which made so happy that day. Howard was a proud long time member of Corunna United Church and was made a lifetime Elder. Howard worked in the meat industry for Colemans, then Schneiders Meats. Anyone that knew Howard has heard him discuss this industry. He loved outdoor work and had some of the best gardens. In earlier years he had a cow and baby chicks which he raised in the kids sandbox. Many will remember Howards huge vegetable garden and all of the canning that Pearl did from its bounty. Over the years Howard golfed, bowled, played pool, swam, camped and enjoyed watching sports for all kids. Howard and Helen spent many winters in Texas and loved to travel after they both had retired. The family would like to extend a special thank to Jim Murphy, Charlene Glover, the many church members, Bruce Cameron and so many others for their frequent visits to see Howard. He truly looked forward to seeing each and everyone of you. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. To the entire Cook family…sincere sympathy in the loss of Howard. There were two Cook families on Cameron Street, Corunna who grew up together and were good friends for all these years. We have great memories of those days. Howard is now safe with our Lord God and others who have gone before.–Nadine (Cook) Wark
