  9. Dear Ruth Ann and Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Lee’s passing. Growing up on Alfred Street in Corunna, Ontario—Canada’s capital for a day—I have vivid memories of Lee, or “Dewie,” from the time I was a young child. Delivering papers to the McCabe house was always an adventure, with Lee jokingly stepping out from the backyard, laughing as I tossed the paper through the door, myself praying Ebony wouldn’t take a bite out of my hand. Thankfully, they never did, and Lee’s playful teasing became a highlight of those days.
Later in life, I had the privilege of working alongside Marc and Brian in the Ironworkers Union Local 700. Marc got me into the trade as an apprentice, and I spent nearly three years working with both brothers, learning the ropes and seeing the same pride and work ethic that ran through your family. Lee carried that same spirit as a proud Millwright with Local 1592, becoming a respected expert in industrial equipment across Ontario and Western Canada. His dedication to his craft, following in his father Ronald’s footsteps, was truly admirable.
Lee’s tough exterior and kind heart has left a lasting impression forever. Lee’s strong spirit, loyalty, and love will live on in all who knew him. I look forward to honoring his memory at the Celebration of Life when details are shared.

  10. Dear Ruth Ann, Mark & Brian & family , Caleb, Levi & Amy!

We are praying for all of you folks during this very difficult time! I had the pleasure of playing minor hockey with Lee for a few years. Lee was a good team mate and really good player. I vividly remember how good of a slapshot Lee had; one time after being taunted by a fan in Wallaceburg Ontario that fan in the crowd almost understood how accurate Lee’s slapshot was. I know over the years I have loss contact with the McCabe family but have always thought of you folks as I know you have dealt with other loss. We are also praying for the day you have set aside to Celebrate Lee’s life.

    God bless you all
    Rev. John Dell
