Randy Horvath

Horvath – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Randy Horvath. Peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, Randy Horvath was welcomed home into heaven on October, 19, 2025. Randall “Randy” Horvath, age 68, of Sarnia and formerly of Corunna, was the beloved husband of 41 years to Anne Marie. He was a devoted father to Angie Kendall (Luc) of Timmins, Courtney Mellow (Curtis) of Port Lambton, and Katie Horvath of Sarnia and the cherished Papa of Lucy, Ruby, Kali, Reed, and Luke. Randy will be fondly remembered by his brothers-and-sisters-in-law Doug Johnston, Dan (Rita) Johnston of Winnipeg, Colleen (Byron) Abram of Brights Grove, and Connie (Lloyd) Churchill of Sarnia. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph (1999) and Claudette (1996); his brothers, Joey (1986) and Wayne (2000); his mother-in-law, Joan Johnston (2009); father-in-law, Malcolm Johnston (1985); and brother-in-law, Richard Johnston (2020). Randy was a true charmer-known for his quick wit, warm heart, and amazing ability to make friends wherever he went – a real “softie in a hard shell”. He had a passion for golf, cruising in his Corvette and riding his Harley Davidson. He also loved traveling with “Fire-Eyes or Ann-Murray”, the love of his life. His wife, daughters, and granddaughters were the center of his world.Randy enjoyed a career at Nova Chemicals and previously at Dow, retiring after 40 years of dedicated service. Throughout his life, a man of faith and a firm believer in giving back to the community, he spent many years serving with the Knights of Columbus and generously giving his time and fundraising efforts to volunteer organizations, his personal favourite being the “Sunshine Dreams for Kids”. He left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with. He will be profoundly missed for his humour, his unique (and delightfully stubborn) Hungarian perspective, his sharp intelligence, and the fierce love, loyalty, and protection he gave to his family and friends.Friends will be received at Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 from 4–7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dan Vere at St. Joseph’s Church in Corunna on Friday, October 24th, 2025, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, Sarnia. A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Antonio’s in Corunna beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia or the Bluewater Health Oncology Department. 2. My deepest sympathies to Ann- Marie and the girls and their families!! Randy was a great guy who I have known for more than 30 years! He was an intelligent, quick witted guy who gave his precious friendship and was always there for anyone needing help. I am proud to call him a dear freind, whilst , he carried a 2 headed coin” and I never won a flip!! His eyes would light up and it would be “curtains” if you were not on the right side of unpopular decisions, both at work and play!! God speed my freind and I will see you on the other side.
