Robert “Bob” Mitchell

Mitchell- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a difficult battle with cancer at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia on Thursday August 28, 2025. Robert “Bob” Mitchell, age 71 years of Corunna. Much loved husband and best friend of Sheila (Goodman) for 42 years. Caring father of Krista Mitchell of Toronto and Jamie Mitchell of Corunna. Also left to mourn his passing are his sister, Lynn Linder (Gary) of Brantford, his 6 nieces and nephews and his 1 great-nephew. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Mildred “Bunny” Mitchell (1980) and Garf Mitchell (1984) and by his infant brother, Teddy Mitchell (1959). Bob graduated from the University of Waterloo as a Civil Engineer and had a long career working for CP Rail from which he retired in 2013. Some of his happiest times were spent with family and friends at the cottage on Belwood Lake near Fergus. A special heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Lilly and all of the staff and volunteers of St. Joseph’s Hospice. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday September 2, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Bob Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia or to the Canadian Cancer Society.   6. We are so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob and Sheila were always dedicated to the kids. I first met Bob when our sons started playing basketball in Lindenwoods in Winnipeg. All the boys were 6. Bob had that great smile. He was always willing to help out with a practice and taking Jamie to the practices and games. Bob was a good guy to talk to and he laughed with the guys.
