Pikkert- Peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Wednesday June 9, 2010. Albert “Big Al” Pikkert, aged 72 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 49 years to Judith Rosemary Pikkert. Loving father of Albert Pikkert and his wife Denise of Wyoming, Brian Pikkert and his wife Lise of Sarnia and Rachel Taylor and her husband Darryl of Sarnia. Dear grandfather of Keira, Shannon, Riley, Raelyn, Jeff (Sara), Kenton, Liah, Annie, Natalie and Justin and great-grandfather of Oliver. Also survived by; his brother, Bill Pikkert and his wife Sheila of Sarnia; his sisters, Dina Vallinga and her husband Otto of Peterborough and Jane Wainer and her husband Carl of Grand Rapids, Mi. and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Penny Marie and by his parents Harm and Rika Pikkert. Albert was a long time employee of Fiberglass and enjoyed his later years driving School Bus for McGill’s. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday June 11, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. There will be no formal funeral service. A private family service has taken place at Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown.
