Bate- Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Afton Park Place, Sarnia on Friday August 29, 2014. Annie Audrey Bate age 91 years of Sarnia and formerly of St. Thomas. Loving mother of Carol McGugan of Pt. Edward, Barb Mortier and her husband Paul of Corunna and Norman Oke and his wife Jacquie of St. Thomas. Much loved grandmother of Michael, Mark, Kerri, Tracy, Darren, Lisa, Debbie and Tammey and great-grandmother of Robert, D.J., Hayden, Ella, Griffin, Colton, Brett, Lance, Emma, Ava and Cole. Annie is also survived by; her sister, Barbara Ryan and by her brother, Harold Hillier both of Kingston. She was predeceased by; her daughter, Janice Watson (2011); her son-in-law, Jim McGuggan (2012); her brother, Albert Hillier and by her granddaughter, Jennifer Mortier. A celebration of Annie’s life will be held at All Saints’ Anglican Parish, Corunna on Saturday September 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Canon Stephen Harnadek officiating. Relatives and friends will be received at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Arthritis Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
