Waugh- Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia following a strong and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday February 2, 2019. Bertha Waugh, aged 70yrs of Corunna. Beloved wife of nearly 50 years to Leslie Waugh. Much loved mother of Arlene Hayes (Jeff) of Delaware, Suzanne Roach (Kirk) of Sombra, Frances Foley (Liam) of Corunna and Leonard Waugh (Audrey) of Windsor. Treasured grandmother of Shelby, Lily and Christian. Bertha was a loving sister to Alice, Marie, Danielle, Lionel, Larry, Allain, Angele and Lizette. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by; her parents, Armand and Lea Lacoste and by her sister, Armande. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday February 5, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers and words of remembrance will be offered at 6:45 p.m. A funeral will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to Pathways Health Centre for Children. Bertha was a second mother to me. Her kindness, compassion, understanding and genuine love she gave to those around her was evident in everything she did and said. Now these are cherished memories by me all who knew her.
She will be missed, but never forgotten.
