Carlyle Searson

Searson- With profound sadness, the family of F. Carlyle Searson announce his peaceful passing on Saturday November 21, 2020 after a brief struggle with cancer in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of 57 years to Marilyn (nee Clark). Cherished father of Scott Searson and his wife Anne and Jason Searson and his wife Cindy. Devoted and loving grandfather to Jenna (Dan O’Hagan), Shannon (Brandon McCurdy), Jesse and Amber Searson. Treasured uncle to Carla (Clark) and Nick Sitter and grandpa Searson to their sons, Cale and Gavin. A lifelong resident of Watford, Carlyle enjoyed operating the family sawmill at the south end of town. He was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union #1256 for 48 years. He and his family were active members of the Western Ontario Steam Threshers Association (Corunna, Brigden, Forest), Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association (Blyth) and National Threshers’ Association (Wauseon, Ohio). Carlyle co-founded the Watford Gun Club in 1968 with lifelong friend, Paul Vail. He coached minor hockey in the 1980’s, was a member of the Watford Legion, was a 60 year member of the Havelock Lodge #238 and was the District Secretary in 2005. His family would like to extend their thanks to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Team with a special acknowledgement of appreciation to Danica and Lucie for their exceptional care and compassion shown. In keeping with Carlyle’s wishes cremation has taken place and his family will be remembering him with a private celebration. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Sarnia/ Lambton V.O.N. or to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.
