McLachlin- Peacefully at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia on Thursday January 9, 2020. Clarence John Wilbur McLachlin, age 88 yrs of Corunna. Loving husband of the late Joyce McLachlin (2015). Much loved father of Debbie Wellington and her husband Stephen of Corunna, Ken McLachlin and his wife Kathy of Pt. Edward and John McLachlin and his wife Robin of Corunna. Treasured grandfather of Erin (Dan), Peter (Brittany), Hunter (Alanna), Robby, Meaghan (Mike), Emily, Rreanna, Stephanie and Mark and great-grandfather of Nixon and Louise. Clarence was predeceased by his brothers, Dwight and Lloyd McLachlin. He was the last surviving founder of the Corunna Minor Athletic Association and was part of the group that helped to build the current St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Corunna. He will be remembered as a lifelong Detroit Tigers Fan. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Monday January 13, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. John Cruickshank officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial of cremated remains will be held in Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. Clarence’s family wishes to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and care shown to all of them while Clarence was a patient there.
