David James

James – Peacefully in the loving arms of his wife and surrounded by his daughters at home on Wednesday July 1, 2015, David Lee James of Corunna was called home by his Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ. David was the beloved husband of 34 years to Patricia Hartley and much loved father of Kendra Jeanne Giles (Jeremy) and Leah Ann Hartley James. David was known affectionately as “Bopy” to his grandson Malachi “Mali” James Giles. He was the loving brother of Helen Durocher, Joe Durocher (Lynne) and Linda James and was a very special uncle to Jason Durocher (Stacey). David is survived as well by Pat’s brother Bob Hartley, sister Sandi Hartley and mother Dorothy Hartley (late Calvin). His church family at Devine Street was very dear to him. David’s parents were George and Florence James. David was an immigration officer for 32 years, taught himself to play over 10 different instruments, was a bee keeper, entrepreneur, carpenter, photographer, gardener, train builder and man of too many other hobbies – above all though, his first love was his Heavenly Father and his family. In keeping with his wishes, David has been cremated. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, July 6th at Devine Street Gospel Chapel in Sarnia. Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with a light lunch afterwards. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Compassion Canada or Operation Mobilization. Arrangements are entrusted to the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna. Messages and condolences may be left online at www.knightfuneralhome.ca or at 519-862-2845.
