Smythe- Peacefully with his wife by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia on Thursday April 11, 2019. Donald Lawrence Smythe, age 80 years of Courtright. Beloved husband of Andrea Smythe for 57 years. Loving father of Stephanie Smythe of Vancouver Island and Stuart Smthye of St. Thomas. Treasured grandfather of Colin, Owen and Jada. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law, Richard (Shirley) Trussler of Kitchener. Numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive. Don was a longtime employee of Nova Chemicals having retired in 1999. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at Conestoga Cemetery, Kitchener at a later date. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia or to Autism Speaks. Arrangements entrusted to Knight Funeral Home, Corunna. So sorry to hear of the loss of Don. He will be truly missed. I worked with Don for many years at Nova and was inspired by his work ethics and knowledge. He was a true mentor. We also had many fun times playing Squash and golf together over the years. Will miss seeing him at Mooretown, Again, my deepest sympathy. Rest in peace my friend.

Thinking of the family during this time. He will be missed at all the sporting events but we know that he will be there in spirit. RIP Don.
So sorry to hear about Don. Our thoughts go out to Andy and family. I will truly miss him on our golf days. He was a great mentor to me on my putting game. Don was a great man and a true friend.
