Dorothy McLaughlin

McLaughlin- It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Dorothy (Gray) McLaughlin on Saturday July 9, 2016. Dorothy was born on the 6th line of the former Moore Township on March 10, 1922, to Cecil and Jessie Gray. She was predeceased by Erwin her loving husband of over 50 years and by her sister Marie Hossie. Dorothy was always loving and supportive of her children – Carol (Gerry) Stewart, Ron (Mary Jo) McLaughlin and Greg (Mary Ann) McLaughlin. Her cherished grandchildren are Nicole (Rich), Craig (Corry), Mark (Deanna), Derek (Loretta), Michael (Carrie), Jessie (Andrew), Kelly, Sean (Laura) and Joe (Jaimi). She was blessed with 19 grandchildren who she adored. Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her Beaton cousins and special niece Joanne Roundell. Dorothy was a long-time active member of the Courtright United Church before moving to Thompson Gardens and joining the Corunna United Church. She loved her family first and foremost, then came the Tigers and Red Wings (a fan from the 40’s right through). Dorothy enjoyed the local sports too and spent lots of time at arenas and parks. She had so many interests over the years – gardening, camping, travelling, golfing, curling, bowling and cards. At Mom’s request there will be a private family service. Memorial donations may be made to the Corunna United Church, the St. Clair River Trail or a charity of your choice. Dorothy’s family are so grateful to Dr. Wm. O’Mahony, Dr. Melanie Crozier and the wonderful staff and volunteers at Marshall Gowland Manor for their outstanding care and kindness. Arrangements entrusted to Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna. Messages and condolences may be left online at knightfuneralhome.ca Knight 519-862-2845

it with sadness that I read about your mothers passing, she was lovely person and great neighbour for all the years we lived in Courtright. I am sure she will be missed by all who knew her. I will inform Carm and John as well.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. I’m glad to that the Tigers were high on her list as we saw the Tigers twice last summer: in Detroit and in Toronto. Too bad they lost both games but I hope Dorothy was watching them from home.
