Doug “Bug” Haley

Haley–Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Sunday November 20, 2016. Douglas “Bug” Haley, age 50 yrs of Sarnia. Much loved father of Darcy Haley and Jace Haley (Emily Fletcher) all of Sarnia. Doug will be fondly be remembered by the mother of his children, Shelly Labrasceur. He was the loving son of Gerry and the late Joan (2005) Haley of Corunna. He will be greatly missed by; his brother, Brian Haley (Dawn Heather) of Selkirk, MB; his niece, Alissa Haley; his nephew, Kyle Haley; his aunts and uncles, Pat and Carl Isaac and Bob and Liz Haley and by his special cousins, Paula McKinlay and Haley McKinlay. Several other cousins and close friends also survive. Doug was employed by CN for 28 years and was an avid hockey fan who liked to follow the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Sarnia Sting. Special thanks is extended to the Doctors, nurses and staff at Bluewater Health –Palliative Care Unit and to Dr. Allison Crombeen and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassion and care shown to the entire family during Doug’s stay with them. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday November 24, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. In keeping with Doug’s wishes cremation has already taken and no formal funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donation to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia or to the Canadian Cancer Society. We will hold our memories of Doug close to our hearts and minds, especially our beautiful day together as a family on the catamaran in Cuba during Brad and Paula’s wedding.
