Edward “Ed” Douglass

Douglass- Peacefully at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia, on Tuesday December 8, 2009. Edward “Ed” Ray Douglass aged 84 years formerly of Hill St., Corunna. Beloved husband of 63 years to Marvel. Loving father of Larry Douglass and his wife Darlene of Corunna, Lorry Douglas and his wife Wendy of Prince George, B.C. and Juanita Will and her husband Leonard of Dorchester. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Harold Douglass and Gerald Douglass and his sisters, Ora Baxter and Velma Skam. Predeceased by; his parents, David and Jenny Douglas; his brothers, Ronald Douglass and Keith Douglass and by his sisters, Mary Pasquin and Anna May Willcox. Ed served in WW II with the Algonquin Regiment and was wounded in the battle at Hockwald Forest in Germany in March of 1945. He was an active member of the Corunna Community having served as a Cub Leader and Baseball Coach. He retired from Polysar in 1986 after 25 years of service. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday December 11, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Allan McKeown officiating. Interment will follow in Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may express sympathy through memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society to the Charity of One’s Choice.
