Ethel Agnes Lyttle

Lyttle-It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Ethel Agnes Lyttle announces her passing in her 93rd year. Mum passed away at Marshall Gowland Manor on Tuesday morning July 28th, 2009, with many of her loving family by her side. Mum had great faith and knew she would be joyously welcomed into Heaven by our Lord and re-united with her beloved Mother and Father and all the family members and friends who had gone before. She is being comforted by their love and is now the special guest of honour at a huge party in Heaven. Born in Belfast, N. Ireland in 1916, Mum came to Canada in 1967 at the age of 50 and settled in Sarnia with her husband Frank who was then 60. Her sweet nature, loving heart, and wonderful sense of humour was appreciated by all who knew her and she made many friends over the years. She had a heart of pure gold, a gentle and kind spirit, was generous and good natured to all and had a great love for animals. Her children are forever thankful for her love and have been privileged to have called this wonderful lady our Mother. Their spouses were honoured and proud to call her “Mrs.” and to have her as their Mother-in law. Mum will be sadly missed by her beloved children, Margaret (Ronnie) Humphries of Oshawa, Ethel Bouchard of Corunna, Frances Birkenhead of Auckland, New Zealand, Thomas (Jackie) Lyttle of Corunna, Robert (Jean) Lyttle of Port Lambton, and Maureen (John) Guzi of Corunna. She was a beloved Nanny to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will forever miss her hugs and kind loving spirit. She was truly one in a million! Mum is predeceased by her husband Frank, loving son Michael, beloved granddaughter Joanne Lyttle, special grandson Richard Birkenhead, daughter-in-law Louise Lyttle and sons-in-law Roland Bouchard and Peter Birkenhead. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Celebration of Mum’s life will be held in the near future, date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Marshall Gowland Manor Comfort Suite or the Sarnia Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
