Holmes- Peacefully at Bluewater Health- C.E.E. Site, Petrolia, on Tuesday May 26, 2009. Evelyn Virginia Holmes age 80 years of Corunna and formerly of Windsor. Dear mother of Michael Holmes of Wellesley and Marlene Holmes (Guy Gregoire) of Quebec. Loving grandmother of Crystal, Amber and Tiffany and great-grandmother of Zander and Trenton. Evelyn is also survived by; her sisters, Lillian Cucksey (Donald) of Corunna, Jane Oke (John) of Tobermory, Selena Hurst (Ron) of Newbury, Harriett Newby of Sarnia, Gloria Newby (Steve Cox) of Windsor and Bernice Newby of North Bay; her brothers, Byron Newby (Marlene) of Corunna, Harry Newby of Alvinston and Roger Newby of Corunna. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by her husband Robert Holmes and daughter Viriginia Holmes. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Rev. George Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Bothwell Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Friday.
