Courtney-Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia on Friday November 1, 2019. Fred Homer Courtney, age 91 years formerly of (Moore) St. Clair Township. Best friend and fiancé of Ruby Robbins. Fred was the loving father of Mike Courtney and his wife Connie and John Courtney and his wife Kim all of St. Clair Township. Treasured grandfather of Erin, Stephanie, Heather, Kelly and Emily and great-grandfather of Tyson, Owen, Isaac, Ineka, Estelle and Elise. Fred was predeceased by; his wife, Evelyn (2000); his daughter, Anne (1986); his grandsons, Arthur (1980) and Lee (1986); his son-in-law, James Dickison (1987) and by his sisters, Aleta Marsh, Vera O’Dell and Mabel Walters. Born and raised in Moore Township, he spent his life farming on the 6th Line of Moore, he was a lifetime member of the 6th Line United Church, was a 2 year member of Moore Township Council and a 15 year member of the Brigden Credit Union. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday November 5, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Jill Rogers officiating. A celebration of Fred’ life will then be held at the Brigden Optimist Club Hall commencing at 12:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held in Bear Creek Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the 6th Line United Church, C.E.E Hospital Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society Messages and condolences may be left online @ www.knightfuneralhome.ca Knight 519-862-2845.

    We will dearly miss our Uncle Fred and his caring visits. He always enjoyed keeping up with the news whether it was re family or politics. His willing chuckle warmed many hearts and we will all remember him fondly. Rod and Courtney and families send along their condolences from Bowen Island and Delta.   7. So very sorry of Freds passing. I spent a lot of time giving him back rubs at Vision and loved his sense of humour. He will be missed by all that had the gift of knowing him He was such a kind man. RIP my friend.
