Cole- Peacefully with family and friends at his side at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Tuesday October 30, 2012. Harvey “Graydon” Cole, age 90 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 57 years to Elsie (Switzer). Loving father of Bill Cole and his wife Kathleen of Palm Harbor, Florida. Dear brother of Lloyd Cole of Etobicoke, Barbara (Don) Browning and Pat Cole all of Barrie. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graydon was predeceased by; his parents, Harvey and Levina Cole; mother-in-law, Matilda Switzer; his sisters, Iva, Norma, Hilda, Laurine, Edith, Phyllis and Marion and by his sister-in-law, Eunice. Graydon was born August 8, 1922 in Barrie and served in the Canadian Infantry during W.W. II from 1942-1945. He proudly joined the Ontario Provincial Police and was stationed in Kitchener, Orillia and Sombra before retiring in 1977. He then served 4 terms on the Lambton County School Board representing Moore Township and he was Board Chairman in 1983. Graydon was a long time member and Elder of Corunna United Church, he was a Past President of the Lions Club and was a founding member of the Ontario Provincial Police Association. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Moore-Union Cemetery, Mooretown.
