Neelands- Peacefully surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Wednesday December 13, 2017. John “Jack” George Neelands, age 76 years formerly of Corunna and most recently Chatham for the last 8 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Neelands (2009). Loving father of Jack Neelands Jr. (Karen) of Australia, Barbara DeKort (Wilf) of Parkhill, Jim Neelands of Brampton, Bev Neelands of Corunna, Theresa Rotteau (Shawn) of Wheatley, Jackie Brown of Mississauga, Dennis Hereygers (Hopie) of Chatham, Michelle Francoeur of Petrolia, David Hereygers of Oshawa and Nick Hereygers (Zonja) of Angus. Treasured grandfather of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his sister Pat Neelands of Thamesville. Jack was a radio announcer in Chatham & Sarnia in the early 60’s. He was a constable with the Sarnia Police Force for 11 years and then worked plant security at Polysar/Bayer until his retirement in 2001. Friends will be received at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St, Thamesville on Saturday December 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Lyle Lalonge officiating. Interment will follow in Mayhew-Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.   5. I am so sorry for your loss. Jack was a sweet kind man with a beautiful soul. I was privileged to care for him at Riverview Gardens and he will be greatly missed by myself and all the rest of the staff who knew him.
