  10. 52 years ago my babies and I braved a winter day looking for a church nearby. We went to Knox and met John and Jackie Cruickshank. Over all these years our friendship has grown through raising children, church activities, skating events, and so much more. The Cruickshank family- all of you- are wonderful examples of family commitment. Jackie has had a tough time these past few years and you stood firmly there to help her and include her. John you are an example of what a marriage vow really is. Your unending devotion is a lesson to us all. Jackie was a great Mom, Grandma, Wife, and Friend to so many of us. I shall miss her but rejoice in the knowledge that she is with the Lord who she served well, resting peacefully. All my love Sharon

    Dear Heather and family,
We are so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Our hearts go out to all of you. I have such fond memories of our university days and your parents visiting us – your mom doing the dishes and your dad pulling the weeds in our backyard – and taking us to Knotty Pine for dinner. Always so kind and generous. You’re all in our thoughts and prayers. Sending much strength and love.

  16. John and rest of family
I was so shocked to hear of Jackie’s passing. I hadn’t been in touch since moving but don’t think you hadn’t been in my thoughts. I still remember the good times with Jackie, Marjorie, Kim, Gina and myself at Thompson Gardens. Those days were the best there and I will always remember them as such. Also do I remember correctly you dumping the lawn mower in the river and the strawberry social at your home. It was the best. Jackie was a gift to be treasured. You and all the family are in my prayers.

  17. To John and all of his family, my deepest sympathy. Jackie was truly a loving person and she loved all of her family deeply. In my many visits with her on their porch she talked about all her children and her extended family. It wasn’t hard to see what pride she had for everyone. She was a joy to talk to and she had much joy in her. May your all find strength your memories of her.

My fondest memories of Jackie date back to the early sixties, growing up in Windsor, when our families spent many weekends together. Even as my slightly older, second cousin, I remember Jackie’s copious, dark, curly hair, smile and generous spirit. May all the good memories sustained you. Tom and Margret (Peacey) Bomar
