McLaughlin-Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday June 4, 2013. James “Jim” McLaughlin, age 85 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 59 years to Patricia. Dear father of Patrick McLaughlin and his wife Judy of Edmonton, Jane McLaughlin of Sarnia, David McLaughlin of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Karen Smith and her husband Mike of Corunna. Devoted grandfather of Katie Ostler (Simon), Emily McLaughlin, Ashley McLaughlin, Natalie McLaughlin, Danielle Smith and Sarah Smith. Jim is also survived by; his sister, Madeline VanTroost of Brigden and by his sister-in-law, Annie McLaughlin of Corunna. He was predeceased by his brother Ted McLaughlin and by his daughter-in-law, Heather Lewis. Jim retired from Dow Chemical after 45 years of service. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna and loved golfing, fishing, reading and most importantly his family. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday June 6, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Friday June 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jan Pochwala celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Inn of the Good Shepherd, Salvation Army or to St. Joseph’s Church Building Fund.
