James “Jim” Roache

Roache- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia on Thursday July 14, 2022. James “Jim” Edgar Roache, age 75 years of Corunna. Loving husband of 53 years to Kathy. Much loved father of  Kirk Roache (Sue) of Sombra, Natalie Blais (Marc) of Texas, Lyle Roache (Jody) of Corunna and Sarah DaCosta (Victor) of Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Erica, Tanner, Shelby, Kayla, Kassandra, Karley, Kameron, Taelor and Emelia and great-grandfather of Emerson, Jaxson, Hudson, Keverleigh and Kenver. Jim was a loving brother of Norma, Edna, Ronnie, Gerry and Joanna. He was predeceased by 5 other siblings. Jim and Kathy have resided in Corunna for over 40 years. He was active in the community with minor sports including hockey and baseball and served on Moore Township Council during the time of transition to St. Clair Township. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor and specifically the Iris Wing for the care and compassion shown to Jim and the entire family during his stay there.  In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation, MS Society or to the Alzheimer Society.     It was such a privilege and honour to work with your husband and father. He was an incredibly smart and thoughtful man. Jim used to refer to himself at work as the old sparker he had such a wonderful sense of humour. I was so happy he finished his book, I just finished reading it. May you look back on the precious memories and bring you peace and comfort during this unimaginable time.

  4. OMG ….I am so sorry Kathy, Lyle, Natalie and family. Words cannot express how badly I feel for you. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim at Shell (work wife) and became a good friend with both of you! His sense of humour, compassion and great friendship will be missed by many. Always remember Jim coming to my office to chat (and hide) lol. Very smart man in all aspects of work. Lunches at their home, celebrating your Anniversary and to me ‘he was one of a kind’! So sorry I didn’t make it to visit him at MGM….
