Jerry Kinsman

Kinsman, Jerry Douglas August 25, 1946- February 16, 2024

Kinsman- My wings have flown to thee, it brings great sadness to announce that Jerry Douglas Kinsman passed away on Friday February 16, 2024 at the age of 77 years. He is survived by Corinne Kinsman, his loving wife of 43 years. Dear father of Donna Kinsman (Donell), Cindy (Kelvin), Kevin (Debbie), Teresa and Marcia (Joe). Jerry was a treasured papa to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Canada and the USA. He was a loving brother of Joan (Blair), Robbie (Heather), Paul (Melissa), Kathy, Carol (Rick) and Krystine (Paul) and brother-in-law of Gloria (Ken) Lapier, Pat Mills and Stan Freer. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews from the Kinsman and Mills family also survive. Jerry was predeceased by; his parents, Doug and Florence Kinsman; his daughter, Debbie Leonard; his sister, Roseanne Gomes; his in-laws, Edyth and Ross Wilson, Shirley Freer, Gary Mills and Murray Mills and by his good friends, Roland and Isabel Barrigar. Jer bear was a unique man of his own doing. He worked hard and led a great career as a Process Operator for Suncor. The day he got his golf cart and his riding lawn mower were always the highlight of the day, month or year. We would remember as he would ask if we wanted a beer and he would proceed to take us out to the garage and go over the lawn mower and the cart again! Lol. Jerry was a very knowledgeable man of math and was quite the historian. You could ask him any question and most times he was never wrong.  Walking, playing golf and hockey were some of Jerry’s favourite past times over the years. He enjoyed dressing up for Halloween, playing cards with friends or just sitting at home with mom enjoying Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. We shall forever remember how much he and mom always showed the true meaning of love. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday February 23, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice. 11. Mike and I enjoyed getting to know Jerry as tablemates at Vision. It was a real joy to listen to his stories about Sarnia and the area. I depended on him to help me pick my players on the Tim Horton’s NHL hockey challenge daily! And the smile on his face when one of the players scored!! We were truly blessed in the four months we shared meals with Jerry. He is missed and will not be forgotten.

  12. Corrine & Family I am so sorry to just see Jerry’s passing at 7pm tonight. Our whole family missed his celebration! 😩 I was lucky enough to call Jerry a neighbor, a golfing buddy & a fellow yard worker. I have many memories of Jerry on the John Deere tractor w/his beer! We worked in the yard along with my father many times and changed slopes of hills, drainage & of course lots of tree trimmings. Jerry was always willing to help no matter the job. He will truly missed by all of us! Jerry was a hockey fan and I can still see him with his Red Wings apparel, loud & proud!
