Joan Pole

Pole- Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit, following a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday May 30, 2013. Joan Beverly Pole, aged 75 yrs. of Mooretown. Beloved wife of 54 years to Arnold. Loving mother of Darryl Pole and his wife Linda of Corunna, Heather MacKellar and her husband Ian of Oakville, Karen Klumpenhouwer and her husband Kris of Corunna and Cheryl Hahn and her husband Kevin of Melbourne. Devoted grandmother of Jasmine, Natalie, Ashley, Madison, Callum, Caidan, Aselyn, Elleke, Autumn and Alexis. Joan is also survived by; her sister-in-laws, Norma Elliott (Glenn) of Shetland and Freda Bardwell (Ken) of Sarnia and by her brother-in-law, Frank Pole (Jeanette) of Nepean. Joan graduated from nursing in 1958 from St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and spent many years working in various industrial plants throughout the Chemical Valley. She was a long time member of the Corunna United Church-U.C.W., the Corunna United Church Amicitia Club and the Courtright Friendship Club. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Monday June 3, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 4th from the Corunna United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. George Bell officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held At Eddie Cemetery, Glencoe. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to Corunna United Church, London Regional Cancer Clinic or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.     Arnold and family I was so sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. I have many good memories of our Tunks Taylor family reunions and seeing all your family. Joan will be deeply missed and your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
