Joan Wagner

Wagner- Joan Ruth Wagner age 86 years of Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday December 2, 2022. Born in Oil Springs, Ontario on April 8, 1936 she was the mother of Sheri Bernier, grandmother of Megan Bernier (Craig) and Taryn Paulley (Jeff) and great grandmother of Barrett Paulley. She is survived by; her sisters, Barbara MacNeil (Bill), Sylvia Knight, Pat Dawson and Lynne Howes (Tom); her sister-in-law, Betty Wagner and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by; her parents, Charles (1977) and Mildred (1986) Wagner (Bridges); her brothers, Lyle Wagner (2010) and Glen Wagner (2011); her sister-in-law Anne Wagner (2004) and by her brothers-in-law, Gerald Dawson (2016), Ross Howes (2017) and Allan Knight (2020). Joan was a very feisty independent woman her whole life. She moved to Florida in 1969 and never looked back. She worked at Alderman Oaks Retirement Home until she was 81 years old. She lived independently in her own home until just two weeks before she passed away. A special thanks to Theresa Mackenzie and Vinny who were a great support to Joan thru the years. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and no funeral services are planned at this time. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia at a later date.   3. I worked with Joni for 13 years and she was always very kind to me and a good friend. I miss her and pray for her beautiful family who I’ve only gotten to know recently, but who she always spoke highly of.
