June Maginn

Maginn– Peacefully but unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday December 29, 2021. June Isobel Maginn age 89 years of Corunna. Loving wife of the late Bruce Maginn (1995). Much loved mother of Brenda Lassaline (Larry McNally) of Inwood and Keith Maginn (Charlene) of London. Treasured grandmother of Beth (Tian), Jillian, Maelynn (Dustin), Pam (Salim), Mark (Mikaela) and great-grandmother of Poet, Duncan, Rowan, Angelica, Brianna, Isaiah, Aliyah, Noah, Trecel and Devaun. June is also survived by; her sister, Helen Baird; her sister-in-law, Janet Randall and brother-in-law, Bob Maginn. She was predeceased by her; grandson, Danny (1993); her brother, Ross Randall (2014); her brother-in-law, Tom Baird (2015) and by her parents, Frederick (1980) and Harriett (1995) Randall. June enjoyed her time as a host to international students; Vicki, Kjell, Timo, Rune, Natalie, Ben and Isobel over the years. She was a long time active member of Corunna United Church for many years. She graduated from London Teachers College (1955-56) and retired from the Lambton County Board of Education having served as a primary teacher for many years. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday January 7, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. There will be a funeral service at the Corunna United Church on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev Blair Corcoran officiating. Cremation will follow. Please note that due to current COVID-19 protocols face masks are mandatory along with social distancing. The maximum number of visitors allowed into the funeral home at one time will be monitored. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to Corunna United Church.   2. Mrs. Maginn was my Grade 1 teacher at Murray Street school many years ago. She was a wonderful teacher who I remember fondly. Thank you for your many years teaching so many children.

  7. The Moore Museum Advisory Board and the staff would like to send our sympathy to Junes family and friends. June and Bruce volunteered at the Museum for many years. Helping with visitors, special events and maintenance. Contributing to the Museum and assisting to create a special place to educate and visit. Again with heartfelt loss to her family.

  9. Mrs Maginn was a wonderful teacher and inspiration to many. She taught me many years ago and I recall her showing us photos she had taken while on her honeymoon and consoling me when I lost my favourite red hat. Inspired by her hands on approach to teaching I also became a teacher. Thank you Mrs Maginn. My deepest sympathy to her family.

    My heartfelt condolences as you navigate this difficult time of loss of your mother. Although I did not personally know your mother, Keith as I read previous remembrances of her I can tell she was a devoted and beloved teacher, friend, neighbour, volunteer and undoubtedly so much more.   14. The world was a better place because June was in it. Her world of teaching and caring for so many will never be forgotten. I will miss her daily trip and visit to our store Foodland Corunna. She will always be remembered as one of Corunna’s finest citizens. We could all take and apply her kindness and generosity. May she Rest In Peace now. A life well lived.   15. I was her student fifty years ago. I will never forget how kind and caring Mrs Maginn was. I don’t think any of her former students will ever forget her. I know I won’t.
