Ken Weed

Weed- Peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday May 9, 2016 following an 18 month battle with leukemia at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit. Kenneth Lewis Weed, age 60 yrs. of Mooretown. Beloved husband of 36 years to Sue. Loving father of Mike Weed of Golden, B.C. and Tyler Weed (Michelle Blonjeaux) of Mooretown. Treasured grandfather of Domonik. Dear brother of Gary Weed (Kelly) of Sarnia, Mark Weed (Marcia) of Bright’s Grove, Ann Stell (Phil) of Corunna, Rod Weed (Nancy) of Corunna and Doug Weed (Tina) of Alvinston. Ken is also survived by; his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Dobroski of Sarnia and by his sisters-in-law, Cathy Dobroski (Greg Holmes) of Corunna and Lisa Weed of Wyoming. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Ken was predeceased by; his parents, Evelyn (1999) and Lyle (2006) Weed; his father-in-law, Ed Dobroski (2008) and by his brother-in-law, John Dobroski (1997).Ken worked as a process operator for many years having worked at Imperial Oil, Royal Polymers, Ethyl and most recently Clean Harbours. Active by nature Ken would quite often been seen running along the St. Clair River Trail training for his next triathlon. Friends will be received at Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where a celebration of life will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jill Rogers officiating. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the St. Clair River Trail or to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.   1. The Weed Family, so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. I worked with Ken for many years at the PVC and Ken was actually the first person I met when I moved from SPEP to the PVC when I first started. He was a great guy and was always there to help. I know he will be sadly missed by all of you and by his old PVC Family as well
