Thorne-Leslie Raymond Thorne (born March 21, 1926, London, England), passed away quietly Sunday April 13 in London, Ontario, Canada, shortly after his 88th birthday.
Ray (or Leslie as he was known in Canada) proudly served England in World War Two, and with his wife Norma, raised two children, Joanna (Corunna) and Kevin (Sarnia). Ray moved to Canada in 2008 just months after Norma passed away in their England home.
Ray loved his weekly visits to the Strangway Centre where he played carpet bowls and shuffleboard. He will be missed by all there, where he was loved for his sharp English sense of humour and his winning smile (not to mention the hair-do).
He will be so very missed by Joanna, husband Dave, children Kira, Taryn, Soraya and Luc; and Kevin, wife Beth and puppy Amy.Cremation has already taken place and there will be a small family gathering at a later date.
