LaLonge– Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Wednesday November 29, 2023.  Lyle Edward LaLonge, age 79 years of Corunna. Lyle was born on June 26, 1944 to parents Veronica Scarlett LaLonge and Edward Kemp LaLonge. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Burns) for 58 years. Loving father of Michele (Tom), Monique (Matt) and Melissa (Charlie). Treasured grandfather of Eamon, Patrick, Carleigh, Daryl, Robertson, Mitchell, Alexx and Emma. Adored great-grandfather of Kenzie, Sierra, Sophia, Paislee and Veronica. Lyle is also survived by his three sisters, Mary Sue Lisheron, Bonnie Allen and Laura Lee Bezaire. He was a retired Chemical Engineer from ESSO Chemical. He became an ordained Deacon in the Diocese of London in 2005 and was a longtime volunteer and servant of the Inn of the Good Shepherd. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, bowling and cooking. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Monday December 4, 2023 from 3-6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 390 Christina St. North, Sarnia on Tuesday December 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Brian Jane celebrating. A private family burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Corunna. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Inn of the Good Shepherd or to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, Ontario.   27. I’m so sorry to hear about Deacon Lyle’s passing. I was a kid when I first met him, but his kindness and warmth have stayed with me these 10-ish years later. His sermons were always so interesting and he never failed to make me laugh. I’ll never forget him coming back to visit our parish after he left and how excited I was to see him (and his spring rolls). I consider myself truly blessed to have had the chance to know him; his memory truly is and will be a blessing.

    I will keep him and your whole family in my prayers. May He Rest In the Peace of Christ and may God be with you.
