Lopes- Peacefully at Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Sarnia on Saturday August 31, 2024. Maria Do Carma Lopes, age 80 years formerly of Courtright. Loving wife of the late Jaime “Jimmy” Lopes (2018). Much loved mother of Margaritta and Shawn Kameka, Lourdes Greenshields, Elizabeth Lopes, Jaime and Erika Lopes and Esther Lopes. Treasured grandmother of Lauren, Dylan, Sophia, Allyce, Steven, Julia, Ethan, Emma, Reis and Reina and great-grandmother of Ozzie and Sutton. Maria was a loving sister to Jose, Joao, Raul, Antero, Joaquim, Oliver and Margarida. She was predeceased by her sister Teresa. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication and commitment to her job in the bakery at Foodland where she worked for over 25 years before retiring. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday September 3, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Corunna on Wednesday September 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
