Marie Benedict

Benedict- Marie Benedict of Coruuna passed away on Monday September 2, 2019 in her 98th year. She was the wife of the late Percy Henry Benedict (1994) and was the much loved mother of Cheryl Will (Burvell), the late Sheila Quinn (2015) and Gloria Jung (2017). She is also survived by her son-in-law, Barry Quinn of North Carolina. She was a loving grandmother of Kevin Jung, Shannon Quinn Kimel, Jennifer Will (Ron), Justin (Amanda) Quinn, Ashley (John) Vaught, Travis Will and Jessica (Taylor) Leavoy and she will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Heather Kimel, Bayden and Gunter Quinn, Sage and Jade Vaught and Olivia Leavoy. She was predeceased by great-grandson T J Neathway. As the eldest of eleven children, Marie is survived by; her sisters, Hazel Ward and Francis Lapier and by her sisters-in-law, Maxine, Muriel, Mary and Sharon Lapier. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by; her brothers, Lewis, Richard, Bernard, Harvey, Earl, William and Howard Lapier and by her sister, Ileen Pilkie. Marie was born in Dawn Township on August 27, 1922 to Peter and Josephine Lapier. After starting her family with Percy, Marie remained a lifelong resident of Corunna and enjoyed her family and small community. In keeping with the family’s wishes a graveside service has taken place at the Moore-Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of one’s choice.   1. Hi Sheryl… Oh My goodness. I just read a facebook posting from Sharon Lapier telling us of Marie's passing. My heart is aching… I cannot tell you how much your Mom meant to me. She was the "salt of the earth". She was the most honest greatest inspiration to me. She will never die in my memories… I am so sorry for your loss. Lynn Dobson
