O’Neill- Peacefully with her family at her side, after a prolonged illness at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia, on Wednesday February 16, 2011. Marjorie Isabelle O’Neill age 80 years of Courtright. Beloved wife of 56 years to David. Dear mother of Bob and Marlene (Storey), Norm and Jennifer (Fulcher), Anne and Mark Bainbridge, Jim and Patti (Cole) and Linda and Frank Halperin. Marjorie is also survived by 10 grandchildren who were her pride and Joy; Dan and Emily O’Neill, Joseph and Sarah Bainbridge, Julianne and Brittany O’Neill, Rebecca and Andrea Cole and Laura and Heather Halperin. Marjorie will be dearly missed by all who have felt her kind consideration and love-friends and family alike. She was predeceased by her parents George and Isabelle McPhail. Marjorie trained as an RN having graduated from Victoria Hospital in London in 1953 and throughout the years she has kept in touch with many of her classmates. Although her nursing career took the form of farmwife, mother to five children and support for many friends and family, there was no one better suited to this profession. Marjorie was actively involved in the Corunna Women’s Institute, Corunna Women’s Study Group, Calvary United Couples Club and the Corunna United Church. Over the past six months, Marjorie has been hospitalized in Bluewater Health, Sarnia and University Hospital, London. The family would like to express their appreciation to the many kind doctors and nurses who have treated her with such great care and compassion. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday February 18, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Corunna United Church, 198 Hill St., Corunna on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Janet Uren and rev. George Bell officiating. Interment will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery, Brigden.
