Newby– Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Afton Park Place, Sarnia on Tuesday August 1, 2023. Marlene Newby, age 75 years of Corunna. Loving wife of 38 years to the late Byron Newby (2022). Loving mother of Jim Russell and his wife Christine of B.C., Selena Fraser and her husband Mark, Brad Newby and Maxine Dabanovich and her husband Don all of Corunna. Treasured grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Marlene was predeceased by her son, Barney (2018) and by her brothers, Michael Clements (1974) and Paul Cornes (2022). She was a longtime member of the Corunna United Church, the Red Hat Society and the Corunna Legion. She enjoyed her many years as a hairdresser in the Corunna area where she met a lot of wonderful people. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Monday August 7, 2023 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. where a funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. with Gabrielle Heidinger officiating . Interment will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.       Thank you for your kind thoughts. She is finally at peace.
      I also want to extend condolences to you for your loss of Mike last year.
      I did not realize that he had passed until earlier this year when I just happened to
      Be on the Knight Funeral Home website and saw Mike’s obituary. So very sorry for your loss.
