Martens – Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Sunday January 6, 2019. Margaret “Marnie” Helen Martens, age 71 years of Mooretown. Much loved wife of Rick with whom she shared their 50th wedding anniversary together on December 29th. Devoted mother of Marie Oliveira (Walter) of Mooretown and Rick Martens (Pam) of Sarnia. Treasured Baba of Dylan (Raelyn), Devon (Jessica), Courtney, Ethan (Amber), Tyson, Parker and Ryder. Marnie is also survived by; her sister, Dorothy Polak and by her brother, John Polak both of Sarnia as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Andy Polak and by 10 brothers and sisters. Special thanks is to be extended to Melissa, Tammy, Joanne, Lucy, Dr. Kim and Staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice and to the Bluewater Heath ER and Telemetry Staff for the care and compassion shown to Marnie and her family during her illness. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Wednesday January 9, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Moore- Union Cemetery, Mooretown. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia.
