Neelands- Peacefully surrounded by her family at the Bluewater Health-Norman St. Site, Sarnia on Tuesday February 10, 2009. Mary Audrey Neelands aged 72 years of Corunna. Beloved wife of 28 years to Jack. Loving mother of Theresa Rotteau (Shawn) of Wheatley, Jackie Brown (Raphael) of Brockville, Den Hereygers (Hopie Palmer) of Brampton, Michelle Francoeur of Wallaceburg, David Hereygers of Oshawa, Nick Hereygers of Angus, Jack Neelands Jr. of London, Barbara DeKort (Wilf) of Forest, Jim Neelands of Brampton and Bev Neelands of Sarnia. Dear grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by; her mother, Pauline Vandenberg; her sisters, Johanna Reekers of Port Lambtom, Petronella Benton of Florida, Pauline Hollman of Florida, Jayne Rembelack of Ohio; her brothers, Jack Vandenberg of Ohio, John Vandenberg of Ohio and Tony Vandenberg of Arizona. Predeceased by; her father, John Vandenberg; her brothers, Harry Vandenberg and Leo Vandenberg and by her sister, Margaret Wilkin. Mary worked in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chatham, Sydenham District Hospital, Wallaceburg and St. Joseph’s Hospital, Sarnia for over 30 years. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Thursday February 12th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna at 10:30 a.m. on Friday with Fr. Jan Pochwala celebrating. Interment will follow in Mayhew-Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Alzheimers Society or to the London Regional Cancer Clinic.
