Nancy Chapman

CHAPMAN – Nancy May of Corunna, at the age of 87. On Monday, November 21st, 2022, Nancy received a call that she couldn’t refuse, and slipped on her heavenly dancing shoes to reunite with the love of her life and have a waltz in the clouds to her favourite Charlie Pride song. Nancy had a passion for baking, and many in the Corunna area will miss her breads, cookies, and pies at the bake sales she held multiple times per year. Her freezer was dedicated to home-baked goods and it was never empty. You could always just give her a call to order a few of her delicious meat pies, and follow it up with a serving of her amazing apple crisp or a loaf of banana bread. She enjoyed a good game of yahtzee, bingo, and euchre – unless she wasn’t winning. We will always have fond memories of her competitive and stubborn spirit. Nancy had many friends and a large, loving, close-knit family. Being alone on a holiday wasn’t acceptable in her house. If she found out a neighbour, friend, or even a grandchild’s friend didn’t have a family dinner to attend, well, they’re part of her family now and they were going to be eating with us. There was always “enough food to feed an army!” and if you left hungry, it was your own fault. Nancy was predeceased by her husband and life-long dancing partner, Allan, and her parents Florence & Frank Lumley. She is survived by her brothers Ronald (Betty), and Larry (Jean) Lumley, and sisters-in-law Lillian Ross, and Betty Newell (Jim), and their families. She was blessed to have been the mother to 5 beautiful and talented daughters; LouAnne (Bill) Eagleson, Donna (John) Vrskovy, Connie (Rod) Fraser, Brenda (Eugene) Krisza, and Robin (Gary) Snell. She enjoyed teaching her 11 grandchildren to bake, and saving them from having their socks tied together; Brian Eagleson, Tanya Eagleson, Candice Vrskovy (Paul), Liza Vrskovy, Alison Kennedy (Jamie), Miranda Fraser (Angelo), Philip Fraser (Jen), Brandon Krisza (Katiee), Kelsey Reis (Dylan), Samantha Mckechnie (Terance), and Shawnie Snell (Brian).  Nancy cherished every moment spent with her 16 incredibly loving great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to dote on them. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Drs Pasqualucci & Suryavanshi, RN Tracey, and all of the staff of Bluewater Health Surgical Inpatient & ICU departments for their compassion and care towards our amazing Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and best friend. As per Nancy’s wishes, there will be no funeral.  A Celebration of Life and Inurnment of Ashes will be held when the weather is warmer and the snapdragons are blooming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements entrusted to Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna.  Messages and condolences may be left online @ www.knightfuneralhome.ca  Knight 519-862-2845.

Dad, please Kiss Our Angel Good Morning.
