Gunness- Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at L.H.S.C.-Victoria Hospital, London on Tuesday May 3, 2016 following complications from surgery. Nelda “Nel” Elizabeth Gunness age 65 yrs. of Mooretown. Beloved wife of 46 years to Carman. Loving mother of Bill Gunness of Mooretown and Scott Gunness (Flavia Jordan) of Kelowna, B.C. Much loved sister of John Anderson (Lois) of Tennessee, Lorne Wheeler (Norma) of Glencoe, Albert Wheeler of Sarnia, Norma Lynn Vanderkloet (Sam) of Wyoming, Allen Wheeler (Edna) and Chris Wheeler all of Sarnia. Dear sister-in-law of Margaret Paulson (Steve) of Winnipeg and Jean Gunness of London. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Nel was predeceased by; her brothers, Tom Anderson and David Wheeler and her sisters, Ruth Anderson, Ruby Glover, Inez Laforge and Marla Moon. Nelda was a longtime active member of the Mayflower Rebekah Lodge #324 Corunna and was a Past Grand Matriarch of L.E.A. Friends will be received at Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Sunday May 8, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Canon Stephen Harnadek officiating. Interment will follow in St James Cemetery, Watford. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Salvation Army or to the Arthritis Society.
