Parker-Peacefully after a brave and determined battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family at the Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Unit, Sarnia on Tuesday July 1, 2014. Nicole “Nicky” Marie Therese Parker (nee Joseph), age 61 yrs of Corunna. Beloved wife of 38 years to Dave “Percy” Parker. Cherished and much loved mother of Carrie-Lynn Gavigan (Ryan) of Sarnia and Christopher Parker (Tiffany Carey) of Corunna. Loving grandmother of the late Reegan Gavigan, Corrigan, Lynkoln and Layghtyn Gavigan. Also surviving are; her sister-in-law, Jane Elizabeth Parker of London and her sisters and brothers, Marie Gillis (Kevin), Roger Joseph (Sheila), Renald Joseph (Brenda), Carol Joseph (Gaetan), Elizabeth Joseph (Ade), Lucien Joseph (Kelly), Germaine Bettridge (Allan), Rod Chartrand, Suzanne Lavergne (Tom), Debbie Chartrand and Heather Chartrand. Numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends will also mourn her loss. She was predeceased by; her parents, Leo and Germaine Joseph; her step-mother, Eileen Joseph; her brother, Rick Chartrand and by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Percy and Helen Parker. Nicky led a very active life in Corunna and area having been involved with the Corunna Legion Br. # 447 Kitchen Staff, Tuesday Morning Sewing Girls and was involved in many cancer fund raisers. Friends will be received for a formal visitation at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday July 4, 2014 from 6-9 p.m. Everyone is then invited to join the family for a celebration of her life which is to be held at the Corunna Legion on Sunday July 6, 2014 between the hours of 1- 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Bluewater Health Oncology Department or to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit.
