Robinson– Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Wednesday May 17, 2023.  Philip William Robinson, age 65 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 39 years to Loretto. Loving father of Paul Robinson and his wife Sabryn of Toronto and Mark Robinson and his wife Paige of Sarnia. Treasured grandfather of Truen. Dear son of Jinnie Robinson and brother of John Robinson (Sandy) and Paul Robinson all of Toronto. Phil was a kind and loving brother-in-law to Pat (Linda), MC, Maureen, Bill, Paul (Sandy), Brian, Madelyn (Hal), Ted (Wendy), Joan, Kevin and Dave (Tammy). He is also survived by his special aunt, Eleanor O’Leary and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by; his father, Bill Robinson; his brother, Graham Robinson; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pat and Madelyn O’Leary and his brothers-in-law, Peter and Wayne O’Leary. Phil was a DOW retiree and will be fondly remembered as an avid Jeopardy fan. A special thanks is extended to all of Phil’s caregivers for the exceptional care provided during his battle with MS. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday May 23, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Michael Dwyer celebrating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, Ontario March of Dimes or to Bluewater Health. Despite all the hardships MS gave him for decades, I was constantly amazed by his unwillingness to give up his cheery and thoughtful disposition. I’ve learned a lot from Phil’s enduring spirit, and I will remember him fondly.

    I will miss Phil very much. He was a wonderful inspiration to me as a friend and fellow chemist. I remember him walking up to my parents’ front door to pick me up for babysitting when I was a teenager and so appreciated our conversations about faith and science. I was so happy that I had a good visit with him when I was last home in March. My prayers are with him and all of you.

I have fond memories as a young girl, visiting you and Phil (pre Paul and Mark) with uncle Dave, Phil always took a true interest in what was going on around him, even as a child I knew his questions about what was going on in our lives, were thoughtful and sincere.
