Ray Gilbert

Gilbert- After a lengthy illness at his residence on Monday December 15, 2014. Ray Gilbert, age 73 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 50 years to Liz Gilbert (nee Bell). Dear father of John Gilbert and his wife Nancy of Sarnia, Debbie Rossini and her husband John of London and Dan Gilbert and his wife Ruby of Corunna. Much loved grandfather of Erin, Becky, Kristen, Lauren, Megan, Matthew and Brian. Ray is also survived by his sister, Donna Reeves and her husband Bob of Cobourg and by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by; his parents, Frank and Edna Gilbert; his sister, Pat and by his brother, Al. Ray was a true entrepreneur having previously owned Ray’s Auto Body in Sarnia, Happy Holiday Campground in Ipperwash and The Victorian Dining and Lounge in Forest. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway Corunna, on Thursday December 18, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday December 19th from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marilyn Townsend-Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or to the charity of one’s choice.
