Robert “Bob” Drummond

Drummond– Peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Sunday July 31, 2022. Robert “Bob” George Drummond, age 85 yrs. of Corunna. Loving husband of 64 years and 5 days to Jane. Dear father of Bonnie Drummond and her husband Roman Lanno of Columbus, Ohio, Heather Drummond of Owen Sound and Dianne Drummond and her husband Bruce Kilgour of Ottawa. Treasured grandfather of Kurt (Haley), Monika (Tim), Clare, and Audrey. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Born on a farm near Wheatley, Ontario, Bob was the youngest of five siblings. Bob was predeceased by his brothers, Jack Drummond and Lyle Drummond and by his sisters, Jean Ascott and Marilyn Dundas. Bob loved the out of doors and enjoyed numerous adventures hunting ducks in Mitchell’s Bay and at deer camp at Pakesley with family and friends. Bob joined the Masonic Lodge as a young man and was an active member for 64 years. He curled and golfed for many years, and also took up shuffleboard while wintering in Arizona. These activities were always more about the fun he had and the friendships he developed rather than the final outcome of the game.  Bob retired from Polysar/Nova after 34 years of service and found time to develop his decoy carving skills and devote many hours to his beloved garden on the river.  Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Friday August 26, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. where a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 27, 2022, with Ann LeClair officiating. 6. I was so shocked to hear of Bobs passing. We worked together in the Instrument Dept at Polysar for several years. Bob was one of those great colleagues and so much fun to work with. In recent years he became a member of our monthly luncheons and for sure his presence will be sorely missed. Faye and I send our sincere condolences to you Jane and family.

    Jane and family:
Mary and I send our condolences to you regarding the loss of husband and father Bob.
I go a long way back to the days when we first met and shared some activities at Leamington District High School in the early 1950s. The common agricultural backgound was a means of identifying with Bob. We seemed to speak the same language. Meeting up with him again upon Bob’s joining Polymer Corporation (Polysar) was a pleasant surprise. The next two decades and its many events associated with work were shared and even later in the 2000s with Bob’s curling at the local club. I recall only positive and favourable experiences of the time Bob and I had while enjoying our work and the recreational moments. His cheerful demeanor and sense of good humour will be missed. Bob was a good man!
    Respectfully,
    Walter Petryschuk

  14. When we moved to Corunna in 1963, the Drummonds were the first neighbours to reach out to us. We raised our families on Cameron St. We installed swimming pools together and rode in the same car pool to work. We curled and golfed.
