Robert “Bucky” Neal

Neal- Unexpectedly but peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit in Sarnia on Tuesday September 10, 2024. Robert Douglas “Bucky” Neal, aged 96 years of Courtright. Loving husband of Catherine for 60 years. Much loved father of Carrie Lynn Maxim and her husband Fred of Bright’s Grove and Guy Neal and his wife Colette of Lasalle. Cherished grandfather of Adelia Neal of Ottawa and step-grandfather of Brandon Squire of Lasalle. Loving brother of Bess Rawlings of Waterloo. Bucky will be fondly remembered by Adelia’s mother, Beth Neal of Sarnia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by; his parents, Guy and Annie Neal; his brothers, Alex, Milton and Donald; his sister, Doris McMahon; his brother-in-law, Jack McMahon and by his sister-in-law, Marydean Neal. Bucky retired from Shell in 1988 and was proud of the fact that he had been retired for as long as he had worked. He will be fondly remembered as an excellent craftsman for having created many pieces with his welder over the years. He enjoyed travelling in Europe but he always commented that the best view was of the St. Clair River out his front window. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Saturday September 14, 2024 form 11a.m. to 1 p.m.. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at Moore-Union Cemetery at a later date.   12. Bucky was one of our father Stanley Burke Robbins best friends they remained connected until dad’s passing . They were part of those Courtright ball teams as young men and I can remember going to Buckys to watch them work on cars when Bucky lived beside where they built the Lambton Generating Station and often to his other home on River. He was a great caring man and the Robbins boys Chuck , Randy and John and families offer our condolences, he will be missed.

  16. I worked with Bucky at Shell Oil Corunna back in the 1970s. Our paths crossed a few times over the years, and Bucky always remembered me, usually at a church function. My sincere condolences to Catherine and family. I remember Bucky as a kind, gentle person and a good pipefitter. God speed Bucky!
