Ron Bainbridge

Bainbridge- Peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health-Mitton St. Site, Sarnia, on Thursday May 28, 2009. Ronald Bainbridge, age 77 years of Courtright. Beloved husband of 53 years to Betty. Loving father of Mark (Anne) Bainbridge of Corunna, Steven (Sandy) Bainbridge of Kitchener, Peter (Micheline) Bainbridge of Corunna, Elizabeth Bainbridge (Shawn Donohue) of Courtright and Bob Dupuis of St. Thomas. Cherished grandfather of Shaun, Shane, Joseph, Nathan and Sarah and great-grandfather of Brock. Also survived by; his brothers, Don (Shirley) Bainbridge of Barrie and Stephen (Shirley) Bainbridge of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his brother Joe. Ron enjoyed his time as an auxillary police officer and served with the Governor’s Horse Guard in Toronto. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Ron retired as a stationery engineer from Shell in 1994 and will be remembered by many for his care and compassion of others and for his ability to teach others to enjoy life to its fullest. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 2:30 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jan Pochwala celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to Covenant House (Toronto) or to the charity of one’s choice.
