Walker, Ronald Lawrence – Peacefully at Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Ronald “Doak” Lawrence Walker, age 75 yrs. of Corunna. Husband of 54 years to June (Prudom). Proud father of Julie and Lisa, both of Corunna. Special Uncle of Sheryle (Rob) Wieringa of Corunna and Papa to Dana and Kelsey. Ron is also survived by his siblings and their families: Ray (Marge) Walker (Wyoming), Patricia (Gary) Chapple (Abbotsford, BC), David Scragg (Toronto), James Bobier (London), Marilyn Cain (Chatham) and Sue (late Greg) Rankin (Dover Centre). Ron is also survived by sister in-law Margaret Prudom (Petrolia) and numerous nieces and nephews from the extended Prudom family, as well as his beloved family pets Anabelle & Ollie. He was predeceased by his parents Forrest and Harriet (Clubb) Walker and his much loved Prudom brother & sister in-laws. A retiree of Holmes Foundry, Ron was lifelong resident of Corunna, growing up on the family farm along the beautiful St Clair River. The Walker family ran a foster home for the Children’s Aid which provided Ron with many lifelong friends that he considered to be family. Ron had many special memories from his days as a Boy Scout and playing ball for the Corunna Giants and was a proud member and past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 447-Corunna. Friends will be received at ST ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH , 437 Colborne St, Corunna on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel B. Roushorne officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church – Corunna, Royal Canadian Legion Br 447 Poppy fund or the Sarnia &District Humane Society.
