Whitehead- Peacefully following a prolonged battle with COPD at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia on Wednesday February 26, 2025. Sharon Irene Whitehead was 73 years old and was a lifelong resident of Corunna. She was predeceased by; her loving husband, Ed Whitehead (2010); her parents, Mirn (2002) and Mildred (2021) Hancock and her beloved feline companion, Otis. Sharon retired after a long and successful career from Polysar and enjoyed decades of volunteering with the Sarnia Bees, Sarnia Sting Booster Club, All Saints Anglican Church and the Corunna Legion. Sharon and Ed enjoyed many trips to Vegas, Nashville and Florida, and especially loved cruising in later years. Sharon treasured spending time with friends playing cards, travelling and visiting Tobermory each summer. She loved crocheting, embroidering and ceramics and generously shared her talents and finished products with friends and family. Sharon will be sadly missed by her many friends and family members, especially dear friends Linda and Ted, Debbie and Raelene. Sharon was fierce in her conviction to remain in her home for as long as possible. To that end, Sharon would like to extend her sincere gratitude to her devoted caregivers who were instrumental in her maintaining her independence; Niece Elizabeth, special friend Adelle, her many dedicated home care nurses, wonderful neighbours. Sharon was best known for her love for animals, a good meal, a spicy caeser and her razor sharp wit. Sharon maintained her sense of humour until the very end. We are forever grateful for the incredible staff at Vision Nursing Home. The Huron Unit Nursing staff, dedicated PSW’s and support staff demonstrated compassion and respect, maintaining Sharon’s dignity throughout her entire journey. Extra special thank you to Kerri Hill who went above and beyond to spend time with Sharon at the very end. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday March 4, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. where a funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Fr. Paul Woolley officiating. A private interment service will follow in Parkhill. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Sarnia and District Humane Society or to Vision Nursing Home. Thoughts and prayers go out to Sharon’s Family. We first met Sharon when we joined the Sarnia Sting Booster Club. R.I.P. Sharon
So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She’s a cousin I’ve never met in person. We connected through her mother some years ago. We maintained contact over the internet for several years. I know I will miss meeting her on those ethereal waves of the internet. God willing we shall yet meet. Heart felt condolences to all her family and friends. God bless!

I met Sharon in 1978 when she had the blonde Afro and big glasses (the style back then). My husband and her future husband, Ed, worked together and I was looking for work. Sharon was going on holiday and the person they hired to cover for her quit. She mentioned me to her boss and they brought me in. That was another lifetime ago! Sharon had an amazing sense of humour and was dedicated to the Bees hockey team, hence her personalized plates “”Go Bees”. Ron knew her through Ed. The four of us had many great times back in the day. May you Rest In Peace Sharon, you deserve it.
Met as neighbours in 1971. Many memories playing pool, trips to Toronto. Relived memories with visits to Sharon. Lots of laughs. Rest in peace

So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing and offering prayers and sincere condolences to the family. I’ve know Sharon for a lot of years, starting when my son played for the Sarnia Bees Jr. B club and then through the years with the Sting organization. She was always smiling and she just radiated fun at every Sting game.
I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. Sharon and I were neighbours on Murray street as young girls. We lost touch over the years and reconnected again in Tobermory as I now live on the Bruce. I understand how it was one of her favourite places where she spent time with her Mom. Rest in peace Sharon.
