Monteith- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Tye Matthew Monteith, age 28 years of Corunna, on Saturday July 29, 2023. Tye was the loving son of Matt and Karen Monteith of Corunna and treasured brother of Kale Monteith of Port Lambton and Reece Monteith of Corunna. Dear grandson of Mavis Monteith of Sombra. Much loved nephew of Leigh Anne Sterling and her husband Al of Chatham, Jamie Monteith and his wife Kristal of Elk Lake, Dee Berkvens and her husband Don of Port Lambton and Jodi Gilhuly and her husband Jeff of Port Lambton. Many friends and numerous cousins also survive. Tye was predeceased by his grandparents, Gord and Donna Millard and Reg Monteith. He was a fourth year apprentice with local #793 of the Operating Engineers and was currently employed with Sterling Cranes. Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. Cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to the Sarnia and District Humane Society or to the charity of one’s choice. As a kid Tye used to come out to the jr high program I ran at Parkway Church. I haven’t seen him in several years. But I will always remember his sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh!
